This page explains the cookies the hosted Editbar Service sets, and why. It doesn't cover a self-hosted install, which sets no cookies of its own beyond whatever your own site already uses.
The Service sets a single first-party cookie, session,
when you sign in. It's strictly necessary — it's what keeps you signed
in between page loads — and can't be turned off without also signing
you out.

We don't set advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking cookies, and the widget itself (the part embedded on your own site) authenticates with a bearer token, not a cookie, so it sets none either.
The Service runs on Cloudflare's network. Cloudflare may set its own limited technical/security cookies as part of protecting the Service against abuse, independent of anything we configure — these are described in Cloudflare's own cookie policy, not ours.
Since the only cookie we set is required to keep you signed in, the practical control you have is your browser's own cookie settings — blocking or clearing it will simply sign you out. Most browsers let you view and delete cookies per-site under their privacy/security settings.
We may update this policy if what we set changes; the "Last updated" date above reflects the current version.
